This workshop introduces advanced topics in statistics, using the R language and environment for statistical computing and graphics, with focus on Machine Learning techniques. The workshop is aimed at bioinformaticians and other information scientists that are interested in applying machine learning techniques in their work. Participants are expected to have experience in R programming as well as basic knowledge in statistics. The participants will learn theoretical and practical aspects of Machine Learning  including data management, visualization, classification, variable selection and missing data techniques. The workshop will combine lectures,hands-on practice and exercises.

Academic Credit

Workshop participants interested in earning 1 credit point for participating the workshop will submit the workshop assignments.
